Typed copy and two cassette tapes of an interview of Higham by James D'Arc conducted on 18 July 1977. The primary topics of discussion are Higham's writing career and his book "Cecil B. DeMille." Higham tells of the difficulties encountered while researching the "DeMille" book. He indicates that he kept some negative features out of the work to soothe the DeMille family. He also explains the legal difficulties in writing about various actors and actresses.
